When
is the Fireman's Parade | Saxonburg Fireman's Parade is held on Thursday of Carnival Week. The parade is the
largest Fireman's Parade east of the Mississippi. |

can I register my organization for the Parade? | Saxonburg VFC sends invites each year to the Fireman's Parade.
We also have units contact us to participate. They can register on-line via this website, drop us a card or letter at 210 Horne Avenue, Saxonburg, PA, 16056 or call our business office at (724) 352-3300 to register or get more information
about the parade. |

Are
their awards for Apparatus? | Saxonburg VFC judges the fire and EMS units only. We have a panel of judges that award
trophies or plaques based on several categories of fire and medical apparatus. |

Are
their awards or judging for other units? | Saxonburg does not offer judging for marching units, floats, or other
competitive parade units.

Can
my organization participate in the Fireman's Parade | Sure. We encourage any organization (other than Political
Candidates) to participate by marching or driving in the parade. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Although last-minute entries
are often accepted. We use a first-come, first serve basis for assigning sequence to fire units--so register early for best positionning.
Street
vendors and food concessions also particiapte along the parade route. |

What
is the Parade route? |
The Fireman's Parade begins at Roeblig Park at the corner of Rebecca Street and Water Street.
It proceeds west along Water Street to Butler Street and then proceeeds south along Butler Street to Main Street. The parade continues
east along Main Street from Butler Street back to Rebecca Streeet (near Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Chruch--white church). THe judges
stand is located near the end of the parade route on Main street. The route is approximately 0.9 mile. |

When
does the Parade begin? |
The official start of the parade is at 6:00pm and begins with the Saxonburg VFC Fire Whistle.
The fist units arrive on Main Street at approximately 6:30pm. The parade usually last 2-3 hours depending on number of units. |

is the best place to see the Parade? | The Fireman's Parade begins at Roeblig Park at the corner of Rebecca Street

What
type of units are in the parade? | Parade-watchers get their positions early and stake out their locations along
all aspects of the parade route. Visitors can get a great view of the parade along either side of Main Street. There really is NO bad
position--but don't come too late so you can see this annual event! |

Is
the Carnival open during the Parade? | Yes. Carnival opens at 6pm and runs until close (usually between 11p-midnight). |
